The HD I/M Inspection Process
The “Clean Truck Check” (Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance) program replaces the old opacity smoke tests for newer vehicles. As a credentialed tester, I perform the required OBD data collection to ensure your truck communicates correctly with CARB’s database.
What We Test
We connect a CARB-certified device to your vehicle’s OBD port to check:
- On-Board Diagnostics: Verifying engine data and emissions control performance.
- Visual Inspection: Ensuring the Check Engine Light (MIL) is functioning and no tampering has occurred.
- Visual Smoke Check: verifying there is no excessive smoke from the tailpipe.
Pricing & Availability
- Cost: $120.00 per inspection. No charge if it does not pass!
- Flexible Service Options I understand that keeping your truck on the road is your priority. I offer two convenient ways to get your Clean Truck Check:
- Shop Appointments: You can bring your vehicle to my main shop in San Bernardino. While this is my place of business, I recommend an appointment for Clean Truck Checks to ensure you are seen immediately.
- Mobile Service: I can travel to your yard or location to perform the inspection on-site. Travel fees may apply.
